Jeff Ruday

Background

Jeff Ruday is a nonprofit professional based in Washington, D.C.

He currently serves as Senior Director of Finance, Operations and Special Events for the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund (www.hoopdreams.org).

Since 1996, Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund has helped 1,000 students to college through the combination of a year-long college and career prep programs and the awarding of nearly 2,000 academic college scholarships.

Jeff's principal interests are special event management and the use of technology to enhance productivity. He is a experienced practitioner of Getting Things Done (GTD), an action management method created by David Allen, and described in a book of the same name.

Before joining Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund Jeff spent over 20 years producing professional and amateur sporting events, and street festivals. Prior to that he had a 12 year career as a teaching tennis professional.

Personal

Jeff graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served for three years in the United States Army.

Prior employers include Palm Beach Polo and Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, World Championship Tennis in Dallas, Texas, ProServ in Washington, D.C. and Streetball Partners International in Dallas, Texas.
