About Jeff Ruday
Jeff Ruday is a special event management and consulting professional
based in Washington, DC. Ruday also provides one on one training designed
to increase personal productivity through improved workflow management and
the creative use of traditional software and online web applications.
Prior to starting his special event consulting practice, Ruday served for
11 years as Senior Director of Finance, Operations and Special Events for
the
Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund.

Jeff has developed and implemented systems
around traditional business software and other innovative tools, including
web based applications, to automate repetitive tasks, increase accuracy,
enhance attention to detail and streamline the planning, production
and operation of special events. In today's online environment it is no longer enough to
expect people to come to your homepage or blog. Today it's about the
distribution of information through social networks to create a
conversation, not a monologue.

George Mason University in Fairfax, VA
Over
7,000 participants ignored the steady rain to run the 3.1 mile course and
then enjoyed the free concert by StudioRock of Northern Virginia. Special
guests included Julie Carey of NBC4, Dr. Alan G. Merten, President of George
Mason University and The Honorable
Jim Moran,
U.S. House of Representatives.

George Washington Parkway Classic Finish
Line Festival
Pacers Events recently hired us to help design and manage the Finish Line
Festival for the 26th Annual George Washington Parkway Classic 10 Mile &
5K held on April 25, 2010. Over 6,000 participants gathered in Oronoco Bay
Park on the banks for the Potomac River after crossing the finish line to
celebrate. The Finish Line Festival featured a beer garden, corporate
hospitality tents, a food tent for the participants, a race results tent
featuring a live feed of runner's actual time, a kid's moon bounce and
much more. Many thank to Katy Dalby
of Pacers for this opportunity.

Over 7,500 participants, spectators and
volunteers ignored the snow and cold temperatures on Saturday, December
5th at the Girls on the Run Reindeer Romp 5K held at Reston Town Center.
The annual run marks the culmination of the 10-week Girls on the Run
program.
Summary of Professional Experience
Jeff Ruday is a self-motivated, detail oriented and flexible business professional with 10
years of non profit finance and operations experience, and over 30 years
of special event planning, management and production experience.
Skilled special event professional with extensive
experience managing large, outdoor, public events that include the closing
of public streets and commercial parking areas.
Assisted with the planning, development and launch, in
the 1990s, of Hoop-It-Up, a national grass roots sporting event associated
with the NBA and NBC Sports, and produced in over 50 U.S. cities and
overseas
Assisted with the development of a Washington, DC non
profit from an all volunteer effort to a 2 million dollar
organization. Provided finance, administration, HR and IT support for a
team of ten.
For 10 years organized and produced one of Washington
DC's best known events, the Hoop Dreams
Scholarship Fund 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament and Community Festival.
